Smatram se jednim od sretnijih, koji se nisu u ovom životu navukli na pošast zvanu “žvakaća guma”. Nije da nisam pokušao, ali jednostavno to nije bilo za mene. Nisam vidio smisla u žvakanju nekakvog komada gume u ustima. A stvarno sam htio biti cool, kao stariji u školi, koji su uvijek žvakali, radili balone, lijepili iste pod klupu. I tako, vremenom, ipak sam bio našao način kako se mogu poistovjetiti sa starijim fakinima. Počeo sam pušiti, i tu glupavu naviku imam još i danas.

Ne želim da pomislite da mislim da je to pametno ili da nije štetno. Ne, naprotiv, pušenje ubija, a isto tako i žvakaće gume. Ma da??? Da, da. Nisu danas više ona vremena kada se žvakalo žvake pune šećera, karijes da te Bog oslobodi, al’ ajd, barem nisu ubijale. Neki dan, čitam na žvakama od frendice njihov sastav i jako se neugodno iznenadim. Sada malo – reklame. Radi se o žvakama Wrigley’s Orbit sweet mint. Ma da vjerujem da bi mogle biti i bilo koje druge, nema velike razlike među sugar-free proizvodima.

Ajmo ‘vako, sastav samo zaslađivača, da ne prepisujem sve.

Duvanje zaustavlja Alzheimera

Pušenje ‘trave’ može zaustaviti napredovanje Alzheimerove bolesti! Marihuana, naime, sprečava propadanje neurotransmitera učinkovitije od komercijalnih lijekova.

Najnovija istraživanja pokazuju da aktivni sastojak marihuane može spriječiti razvoj te bolesti tako da zadržava razinu važnog neuroprijenosnika koji omogućava normalno funkcioniranje mozga.

Znanstvenici iz Istraživačkog instituta Scripps u Kaliforniji utvrdili su da sastojak marihuane, delta-9-tetrahidrokanabinol ili THC, sprečava propadanje neurotransmitera acetilkolina učinkovitije od komercijalnih lijekova.

THC je također djelotvoran u blokiranju proteina koji može oslabiti pamćenje i sposobnost razumjevanja kod oboljelih od Alzheimera, objavili su stručnjaci u časopisu Molecular Pharmaceutics.

Znanstvenici ističu kako bi njihovo otkriće moglo dovesti do uspješnijeg liječenja te bolesti koja je glavni uzročnik demencije u starijih osoba.

Sad, budući da kao što sam naveo, vjerojatno nisam baš najbistriji, molio bih nekog tko se u ovakve stvari razumije da mi objasni što se događa. Da bolujem od Alzheimerove bolesti, i da znam da mi TO može spasiti život, trebao bih biti totalni KRETEN da ju ne koristim. Ili možda griješim? Znamo i sami što su ljudi u stanju sve učiniti da bi ozdravili od neke teške, ako ne i smrtonosne bolesti. A zamislite oboljelog od te bolesti, uhvate ga, zbuksaju…čovjek propada, mozak se pomalo gasi…i na kraju - umire. Tko je onda tu - KRVNIK?

Pa dajte to lijepo dekriminalizirajte, stavite u slobodnu prodaju ljudima iznad 18 godina koji to žele koristiti (uz obavezno ostavljanje osobnih podataka prilikom kupnje, recimo). Poberite si PDV koji ćete nabiti na proizvod, zaposlite zemljoradnike (recimo u Slavoniji) za uzgoj, a možda se jednog dana i obogatimo na – izvozu. Ha?

2006 Pesticide Spraying in New York City
City Again Sprays Crowded City Streets

The New York City Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene sprayed the dangerous pesticide “Anvil” in sections of Brooklyn last month and continues to fog Staten Island, purportedly to kill mosquitoes which may or may not be carrying West Nile virus. City officials also ordered spraying in Queens and the Bronx.

The first spraying of the year in Brooklyn took place on the evening of August 21. The spray truck – now driven by unionized NYC workers wearing DOHMH insignias – recklessly spewed pesticides in a thick cloud down crowded 5th Avenue in Sunset Park and in the surrounding area in utter disregard of the hundreds of people walking the streets. The truck blasted pregnant women and many, many little children with the spray, and fogged people in dozens of restaurants – their doors wide open – without warning as they ate.

The City put up no signs in the neighborhoods announcing the spraying. They made no public warnings about the dangers of pesticides, the links between pesticides and asthma – which is epidemic throughout New York City — childhood cancers, lymphomas, neurological disorders, chemical sensitivities . . . nothing.
